Little white lies jennifer lynn barnes pdf free download

When her Grandma offers her a fantastic contract with the deal of a lifetime, she decides to join the craziness that will make her question everything. Bratty girls fighting over boys, expensive dresses, dinners and dances, and enough cops to be involved that we could sink a battleship Oh, and the fun has only just started. It's a drama filled book about debutantes and the insane lengths they will go to for them to keep their secrets safe. It ends with a cliffhanger, so I was not impressed I enjoy my books being able to end nicely without me feeling like I need to continue.

But, this book makes me feel like I need to. What happened? Who's the Father? Who's not the Father? Is the pregnancy fake? What's going on? There's so many things that couldn't fit into this book and finish it up nicely. This book is a long one though, and some of it didn't really need to be there. Some chapters droned on and on while I was just itching for the action to get started or end, depending on what plot line we are following.

This book is quirky, and is perfect if you love soap opera like stories - think General Hospital, Pretty Little Liars, Vampire Diaries without the fantasy. There's enough thrills, drama and laughs in this book to make a reader grin. Keep in mind, it is a YA book so it's relatively clean, with the suggested potential murders, pregnancies and rapes around the corner. The girls are all in jail, but we never get the full why Overall, good book!

I'll have to try to get my hands on the next one, one of these days. Three out of five stars. Dec 09, Lee rated it really liked it Shelves: mystery , young-adult , contemporary. After finishing Little White Lies , I can't decide if it's really worth the 4 star rating.

This was a book that I was fully engrossed in. I was engrossed in this drama, which was ridiculous most of the time. This felt like a train wreck that you know you should look or walk away from, but instead you're still there just watching. Sawyer Taft never thought she would be roped into the world of debutantes, but when her grandmother mysteriously shows up and offers her six-figures contract to appear, Sawyer soon finds herself in that world with the chance to also figure out who her father is.

There deeper she gets into the society, the more she begins to realize that everything is not as she thought it would be. The best way I know how to describe this is that it had a Gossip Girl feel to it. The society was rich and the characters did have an air of superiority to them and drama seemed to surround them at every turn. If there wasn't current drama, secrets were uncovered from the past that created drama. This book is truly an endless circle of drama in this small little family.

There were mysterious and twists and turns in this that left me surprised and ready for that to be disproved again.

The ending of this left me irritated at how much I want to dive into the next book. Now, I'm more convinced that this book really should have a lower rating, but I enjoyed myself as I mentioned earlier, it's a train wreck that I couldn't look away from.

Little White Lies was a fun read that did provide me with good entertainment and some laughs, but I'm still left questioning the the true substance and quality of this. Apr 20, Madison rated it really liked it Shelves: young-adult , mystery-thriller.

I would usually steer away from books about Debutante balls and the drama that might accompany such events, but Little White Lies is written by Jennifer Lynn Barnes, so instead it became one of my most anticipated reads of And it did not disappoint. Only Barnes could create such a setting and accompany it with breathless tension and mystery, expertly combined with humour and good old insult-laden compliments.

Little White Lies is both a fun contemporary novel and a mystery. It took the majority of the book for me to figure out what on earth was going on in this story. What was the mystery about, how would it all play out? I instantly, instantly loved Sawyer. There is such a thing as love at first sight, or perhaps in this case it is love at first line, because when she threatens a rude customer with wire cutters and archaic torture methods I knew she and I would get along just fine.

Her dry sense of humour is the perfect contrast to the sugar-sweetness of her new companions. The flow and tension of the story is helped with before and after sections, as well as artwork from a very interesting Tumblr page. The artwork was not included in my ARC but explanation of its inclusion is just one of the many clues that are revealed as the story unfolds. Update: Turns out, my reader's copy was not complete and there was a massive reveal at the end in the last 10 or so pages that I missed.

Having now read the full version, I can say it makes more sense and makes me a happier reader. As to that ending, well, I even wrote to the publicity department to check that my copy is a complete and accurate representation of the final book.

I never heard back and so I must assume that it is. Which means Little White Lies has one hell of an ending. Yet readers are still left with a sense of conclusion, even if they as I am will be desperate for the second book in what promises to be a very exciting, unique, and clever series.

Sawyer is a feisty "anti-Debutante". The internal dialogue is often hilarious, but this probably should have been two books i. The shifting time lines messed me up a bit, and the ending was a bit- odd - what with the twist within the twist. I got the impression that the author might have changed the ending so that it wouldn't be so predictable? But I could be very wrong, there. Actually, I suspect that this is a part of a series, hence the cliffhangers with Nick and a f Sawyer is a feisty "anti-Debutante".

Actually, I suspect that this is a part of a series, hence the cliffhangers with Nick and a few others that I won't mention, for fear of spoilers. I did enjoy reading about the hilarious antics of the various debutantes, but for the most part, the thing that saved this book for me was the smart and sassy dialogue - both internal and between the characters in this story.

Maybe I will have to revise this review once the sequel if any comes out, and realize that the first book was merely setting the stage for all the drama to come?

I would give this a 3. It is very well written, has some great humour and a few adventures - and a bunch of debutantes landing in a jail cell is sure to excite some interest. Maybe decide for yourself on this one: fans of Jennifer Lynn Barnes will probably love this one.

Sawyer lives with her inconsistent mother, barely scraping by. Jennifer Lynn Barnes gave Sawyer such a sharp, Sawyer lives with her inconsistent mother, barely scraping by. Her moral compass and empathy made her easy to root for. The minor characters had distinct personalities and complexity. Even with the cliffhangers LittleWhiteLies answers the important questions. That was a rollercoaster from page 1. What I believe, is that you should go into this book without knowing anything except what the back of the book says. Also, to just go with the punches, because everything will make semi-sense in the end. I loved the characters, even the ones that were'nt likeable, I love to hate them. Every character goes through character development, even if they're not a big part, they still grow throughout the book.

Sawyer is a badass and I love her. Lilian the gran OMG. Lilian the grandmother is a badass and nobody should get in her way. If you love mystereies and small town drama, read this book because it made me so happy to not live in a small town where everyone knows everything. Okay, um, damn. Jennifer Lynn Barnes is truly one of the queens of YA mystery. I wouldn't say that all of her books are total masterpieces, like the Naturals, while super fun to read were a bit ridiculous at times.

However, this book, along side The Inheritance Games, was fantastic. This book had the perfect combination of delightful characters, a fun plot, craziness, rich people drama, some freaky family secrets, love, sisterhood and more. I guarantee that this book will leave you clutching your Okay, um, damn. I guarantee that this book will leave you clutching your pearls. Totally excited to read the next!! Eighteen years old Sawyer Taft and her mother barely get by.

Sawyer loves her mom, but too often her mother flakes out, leaving Sawyer to be the adult. So when her estranged grandmother offers her a half million dollars to move in with her so Sawyer can be presented as a debutante, she agrees. What she doesn't expect is to find a connection to a family she's never known, especially a cousin who will join her as a debutante, along with two of her friends. The story begins with the girls in jail. W Eighteen years old Sawyer Taft and her mother barely get by.

What led to their arrest? Therein lies the secrets, lies, and devious plots of these four girls. A clever, snarky and fun YA mystery.

Sawyer, though, reminds me a lot of Tess. The one thing she doesn't expect to find is friendship, but as she's drawn into a group of debutantes with scandalous, dangerous secrets of their own, Sawyer quickly discovers that her family isn't the only mainstay of high society with skeletons in their closet. There are people in her grandmother's glittering world who are not what they appear, and no one wants Sawyer poking her nose into the past. As she navigates the twisted relationships between her new friends and their powerful parents, Sawyer's search for the truth about her own origins is just the beginning.
