The students must understand the exam pattern clearly in order to score higher marks in the examination. The UGC NET syllabus contains the topics and subjects that the candidates have to study and prepare well in order to score higher marks in this national-level competitive examination.
There is no break between the papers, and the exam will be back to back for both papers. Paper I exam is common to all applicants, and it tests reasoning ability, reading comprehension, divergent thinking and general awareness of the candidate.
The main objective is to assess the teaching and research capabilities of the candidates. The test aims at assessing teaching and research aptitude.
Candidates are expected to possess and exhibit cognitive abilities, including comprehension, analysis, evaluation, understanding the structure of arguments, deductive and inductive reasoning. The candidates are also expected to have a general awareness of teaching and learning processes in the higher education system. Further, they should be aware of the interaction between people, environment, natural resources and their impact on the quality of life.
Structure of the institutions for higher learning and research in India: formal and distance education professional OR technical and general education; value education: governance, polity, and administration; concept, institutions and their interactions.
Note: 5 questions, each carrying 2 marks, will be set from each Module. Whenever graphical or pictorial questions are asked for sighted candidates, a passage followed by an equal number of questions and weightage will be set for visually impaired candidates.
We advise the candidates to start their preparation as soon as possible and with dedication. It is recommended that you develop your preparation strategy first and then analyze how many days you need to spend on each and every topic.
So, make sure you understand the whole syllabus, look into the exam pattern, solve sample question papers and also revise daily. This will help you pass the examination with high scores.
